David Fullerton with a 12lb 4oz Rainbow from Linlithgow Loch, West Lothian. David took the big Rainbow in 12 inches of water on a size 8 L/S Cats Whisker fished on a Wet Cel 1 line.
7/6/11 Loch Style International

Harray Loch in the Orkney Islands is the host venue for this year's Spring Loch Style Home International. Once again the club is represented at International level, this time by David McAllister. David fishing his first International Match will join 14 anglers from each of the home nations trying to win the coveted team gold medal. The week will see three days of intense practice on Harray Loch ahead of the match which will be held on Friday 10th June.

Congratulations to David McAllister on his team silver medal awarded at this years spring International fished on Loch Harray. David's bag of seven fish on the day helped the team secure second place behind winners Wales. 25/6/11, Heat 8 of the Scottish Club Championship took place on the 25th June at Lake of Menteith. Representing the club was PGAC 'A' team comprising G.Martin, D.McAllister and A.Blair. A good performance by the lads on the night saw them grab third spot and a place in the Semi Finals. George was the team's top rod with five fish for 12lb 2oz and second top rod overall. George will now progress to fish Champion of Champions at the Lake of Menteith on Friday the 14th of October.
31/7/11 Seen the 2011 Scottish National River Championship take place on the River Tay downstream from Pitlochry. Club member David Downie had a successful day securing third spot behind Champion Richard McHattie of Aberdeen & District AA and his club colleague Mike Cordiner who finished in second spot.
10/09/11, 119th Scottish National Trout Fly Fishing Championship was held on the Lake of Menteith on the 10th September. Representing the club was David McAllister. David had a successful day taking 9 Rainbows for 20lb 12oz and finished in seventh spot. This secured seventh place for David and a place in the 2012 Scottish International Team. The winner on the day was Ronnie Glass of Kelso AA whose bag of 12 fish for 27lb 9.8oz secured the title of National Champion.
16/09/11, Scottish Club Championship 2011 Semi Final saw both Port A & B teams competing for a place in the 2011 Final. However on the day it was the Port 'A' team that progressed to the final with 19 fish securing seventh spot. Top rod for the A team was Davie Mac with ten fish, followed by David Downie with 6 fish and Archie Blair three. Port 'B' however was well off the pace with 11 fish to the rods of Barclay, Crumlish and Tucker.
23/9/11 Autumn International Congratulations to Andy McKay and George Martin on their team silver medals awarded at this years Autumn International held at Grafham Water. The full results for the match can be found at www.iffa.net.





03/01/12, January Storm Destroys Boat Shed

As can be seen from the photographs the New Year has started in the worst possible fashion for the club. The hurrican force winds that created a trail of destruction across Central Scotland on the 3rd of January didn't take any prisoners as they swept through the Upper Gryffe Valley.

This years Opening Day competition was hosted on the Gryffe. Forty six anglers, the best turn out for some years were met with sunshine and light winds out of the south west. Fishing was fair for this time of year and twenty two of the competing anglers managed to return fish to the scales. In total forty nine fish were weighed in for approximately 39lb, with the stocked fish averaging around 1lb 1oz. Full results can be found in the Competition Results.
